The first event this year was Westminster KC
annual dog show in NYC. I took the trip to have
a look on what this show would bring.
It is something with the US that draws us to
them, and acording to the KC this the most
important show in the US, and also a show that
handlers should have on their resume.
On this show it is only qualified dogs that can
attend, therefore not a big entry. 14 Miniatures
was entered for judge B.Yamada.

As written above, this
is a "handler" show and this pro-handler
gave me a laught. With his assistants who
did absolutly everything to please him so he
could take a couple of rounds in the ring a
lift the dog once.
The minute the dog was done in the ring,
they rushed to him and did everything for
him... as picture on left shows. On the
picture under, the dog is made ready for the
picture taken. The handler just stood there
and smiled while the other ones did
everything including placeing the dog
correct... |

To be
honest, it was not all dogs that impressed
me. Picture on left was a soft coated
wheaten terrier that was placed.
The bitch (picture under) was beautiful,
with a good terrier-tempr and a good mover.

This dog won the terrier-group and seeing
this Sealyham alive as amazing. Pictures
also shows how pro these handlers are. Look
on the smile of the handler when she is
ready to take picture.... |
